1 Getting started with Earn and Build Find your way around: the homepage, search, opportunities, talent and the menu. Use the search on the homepage: choose Find talent or Find work, then type what you need. Browse by category below the search. Find Opportunities lists open, paid work with filters for category, type of work and budget (JMD or USD). Find Talent lists public profiles with skills, work samples and rates. On a phone, everything is in the menu at the top right. Start exploring 2 Creating an account Sign up with your email, choose hiring or earning, and sign in again later. Select Get started and say whether you're looking to hire or to earn. Enter your name, email and a password of at least 8 characters, then select Create free account. Confirm your email address when asked. Choose how you'll use Earn and Build: hire, earn, or both. You can change this later. Next time, use Sign in. Forgot your password? Use Forgot password. Create a free account 3 Setting up your earning profile Add a headline, skills, rates, services and portfolio items, then publish. Open My profile in your dashboard and add your name, headline and what you can do. Add your skills (press Enter after each one; your own skills are fine). Set how you charge and pick JMD or USD. List services businesses can book, and add work samples: images, videos or PDFs. Preview your profile, then publish it. It gets its own link and appears in Find Talent. Edit my profile 4 Finding and applying for opportunities Search and filter paid work, read a listing, save it, and apply. Open Find work and search by title, skill or keyword. To filter by budget, pick a currency first, then set a minimum or maximum. Open a listing to see the budget, deadline, location and details. Save it for later, or apply: explain why you're a good fit and, if you like, suggest a price. Track your applications under Applications in your dashboard. Find work 5 Using Earn and Build as a business Set up your business profile, post an opportunity, and review applicants. In Hiring mode, fill in your Business profile: name, what you do and a logo. Select Post an opportunity: add a title, description, category and a budget in JMD or USD. Publish it, or save it as a draft. Review applicants: read their pitch, open their profile, then shortlist, decline or hire. When you hire, the agreed scope, price and due date are recorded for both of you. Post an opportunity 6 Switching between hiring and earning Use the same account to hire and to earn, and switch in one tap. Use the mode switch at the top of your dashboard. Earning mode shows your profile, applications, work and earnings. Hiring mode shows your opportunities, hires, payments and business profile. Your messages and history stay together, whichever mode you're in. Open my dashboard 7 Uploading photos, videos and documents Add a photo, banner, portfolio items, work files and private documents. Add a profile photo and banner from your device or by pasting a link. On a phone you can also take a photo or choose one from your library. Portfolio items can be images, videos or PDFs. You'll see a preview and progress, and can cancel or replace. Files on a piece of work are shared only with the other person. Private documents in Settings are visible only to you. Add work samples 8 Managing your account and activity Your dashboard, work, messages, notifications and settings. The dashboard overview shows what needs your attention. My work lists everything you've been hired for, with status and due dates. Messages keeps every work conversation in one place. Keep contact and payment on Earn and Build. Notifications cover applications, hires, messages and payments. Settings: your name, password, email preferences and which modes are on. Open my dashboard 9 Payments and receiving earnings How businesses pay, how Earn and Build holds the money, and how you receive it. Payments are being tested and aren't switched on for real money yet. When they are, businesses pay by card on Stripe's secure checkout, in JMD or USD. Earn and Build holds the money until the business approves the work, then sends the person's share to the bank account they add under Earnings. See fees Still stuck?
